Training and Technical Assistance Needs from the
704 SILC Reports
Fiscal Year 1997

The compilation and ranking of SILC needs was accomplished in the same manner as those of the CILs. Of 48 disks reviewed, 9 contained no I-D(b) or were unreadable.

Below is a list of the 17 categories and their sub-categories and the number of times each was expressed as a need by the SILCs. Please note that the total for each category is listed opposite the category title and is the sum of the sub-category totals. General or nonspecific needs are listed as a separate sub-category, e.g. 1.0.

The reports of the SILCs were even more inconsistent than those of the CILs. Often no needs were expressed, only plans and accomplishments. An additional factor was the inclusion of CIL training and t.a. needs in the SILC reports. Often the report focused only on these needs rather than those of the SILC. Some thought should be given as to how to incorporate the CIL information in the SILC reports into the compilation of the CIL reports.
