Presented by Margaret Campbell, PhD, Christine C. Ferguson, JD, James Rimmer, PhD and Rochelle L. Rollins, PhD, MPH on March 4, 2010

About the Webcast

The NCDDR Community of Practice on Research Quality will host a webcast on March 4, 2010 for NIDRR grantees and other individuals interested in research on obesity and disability disparities. This webcast is the second of a two-part series on disparities research and will focus on strategies for addressing these disparities in obesity among people with disabilities and improving the quality and visibility of disparity and inequities research. Discussion will include strategies for increasing the amount and quality of disability-related obesity research, promoting the inclusion of people with disabilities in national health-promotion programs and research, and improving interagency and interdisciplinary research collaboration on obesity disparities research.

Part 1 of this webcast series on disparities research focused on the disparities in obesity experienced by people with disabilities, potential consequences of those disparities, and efforts to include disability as a diversity and equity factor in federal and community health-promotion programs. You may access information and materials, including the webcast archive, for Part 1 of the series on Documenting Disparities in Obesity and Disability.
