About the Training

A successful SILC must be representative of all people with disabilities in the state, and a strong SPIL must address issues faced by people with disabilities in different communities and of diverse backgrounds. Presenter Tawara Goode is a nationally recognized leader in cultural and linguistic competence. She provides the learner with the best tools, resources, and in-depth information to assess their state and SILC as it stands now and to develop an action plan to achieve and sustain cultural and linguistic competence.

  1. List the benefits and rewards that linguistic competence can bring to a SILC and their state
  2. Describe the various components of diversity and culture
