Access to Distance Education:
Legal and Technical Issues

OVERVIEW

The focus of the webcast will be on three issues: the legal responsibilities
for distance educators in constructing accessible courses; technical concerns in providing “second-generation” accessibility in non-HTML elements like Word and PowerPoint; and practical methods of ensuring access currently in development by the Southeast DBTAC and soon to be available to all
distance educators.
