Reducing the Risk of Secondary Conditions
for People with Spinal Cord Injury

About the Presenters

Suzanne Groah, MD, MSPH is the Director of the Spinal Cord Injury Consultation Liaison Service and Director of Spinal Cord Injury Research at the National Rehabilitation Hospital in Washington, DC. In addition to treating people immediately after their SCI, her research has focused on numerous secondary conditions that occur after SCI. These include, but are not limited to, bladder cancer, cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis, and overall health and wellness.

Thilo Kroll, PhD is a Senior Research Associate at the NRH Center for Health and Disability Research in Washington, DC. His work focuses on Access to Health Care, Community Integration, and Health Promotion issues for people with disabilities. Specifically, he is interested in applying mixed method approaches that combine quantitative and qualitative methods in disability, public health, and rehabilitation research.
