About the Presenters
Pei-Shu Ho,

Pei-Shu Ho,
PhD is a Senior Research Associate and is trained in Health Services
Organization and Research. Her current research interests include
outcomes of care, access to care, and satisfaction with care for
older adults with disabilities. Before joining the NRH-CHDR, she
worked in the Outcomes Management Department of the MedStar Research
Institute as a Senior Outcomes Analyst. There she studied outcomes
of care for people with diabetes, traumatic brain injury, breast
cancer, and stroke. She also worked with the senior managers to
study the relationship between patient and staff satisfaction
of six MedStar Health hospitals. Her work prior to MedStar Health
concentrated on evaluation of state mental health programs in
Missouri and Virginia. In the past two years, she served as an
adjunct faculty in the Department of Health Administration at
Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond Virginia.
Mel (Melinda) Neri
has a BA in Sociology and has been working in disability and health
services research since 1997. She came to the NRH-CHDR in 1999
from her hometown of Seattle, where she worked for both the Women’s
Health Initiative (WHI) at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research
Center and the Center for Disability Policy and Research at the
University of Washington. Mel enjoys the qualitative aspects of
health care research for people with disabilities, and is experienced
in conducting in-depth qualitative interviews and analysis. She
is skilled in survey administration and tracking, as well as data
collection and management for both large-scale and national studies.
She has co-authored both qualitative and quantitative manuscripts
on the health care experiences of people with disabilities, access
to health care, and barriers to health care. She is currently
the Project Coordinator for the SCI Rehabilitation Research and
Training Center on Secondary Conditions and Exercise.
