Making the GRADE: Improving Access to E-Learning
About
the Presenters
Robert L. Todd is a Research Scientist II and Information
Architect at the Georgia Institute of Technology’s Center
for Assistive Technology and Environmental Access. He holds an M.S.
degree in Information, Design and
Technology from the Georgia Institute of Technology, as well as
an M.S. degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from Georgia State University.
He is the project director of the Georgia Tech Research on Accessible
Distance Education (GRADE) project and the assistivetech.net project,
a national assistive technology web resource. He is the information
architect of many accessible web projects. His current research
foci are creation of accessible distance education strategies and
products and ethodologies to synthesize usability, accessibility
and aesthetic practices in web design to create the most effective
designs for all people.
Curtis D. Edmonds is the Education and Technology Specialist
for the Southeast Disability and Technical Assistance Center. He
is responsible for coordinating efforts to improve access to information
technology for students with disabilities throughout the eight-state
Southeast region. He previously worked for the State of Texas as
the ADA Technical Assistance Specialist for the Texas Governor's
Committee on People with Disabilities in Austin, Texas, where he
oversaw training efforts for state Americans with Disabilities Act
coordinators and provided technical assistance on the ADA to businesses,
government agencies, and individuals with disabilities.
