Voting Rights of People with Disabilities

Abstract

This Web cast will focus on the rights of citizens with disabilities to vote, and to have their polling places and processes accessible to and usable by them. We will examine the impact of the laws enhancing voting rights for people with disabilities; namely the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Voting Accessibility for the Elderly and Handicapped Act (VAEHA), and the Help America Vote Act (HAVA). Additionally, Mr. Terry will share ideas about practical steps to take during the short-term, before we are able to accomplish systems change.
