Reconciling State and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Accessibility Guidelines

Abstract

John Torkelson, and Aaron McCullough are both based in Texas, one of the few states with Accessibility Standards certified by the Department of Justice. Additionally, both presenters work in a number of states, which do not have state accessibility standards or do not have federally certified standards. Through this Web cast, the presenters will discuss what the anticipated new ADA/ABA Accessibility Guidelines may mean for states with their own codes. They will explain the meaning of certification of state codes and how certification affects enforcement activities. You can expect to learn much about enforcement through the development of a project as well as after the completion of a project.
