How to Weave through the Special Education Maze in the Wake of Hurricane Katrina

About the Presenter 

Elizabeth A. Greczek is the Education Staff Attorney for the National Disability Rights Network (NDRN). NDRN is the voluntary national membership association of the Protection and Advocacy Systems and Client Assistance Programs. NDRN provides leadership in promoting and strengthening the role and performance of its members in providing quality legally based advocacy services to people with disabilities. There are 57 P&A’s in the United States, one in every State and Territory.

Ms. Greczek oversees special education law training and technical assistance efforts to the P&A System. Previously she practiced at the D.C. Protection & Advocacy Program and worked in private practice. During this time she focused on special education and disability rights law including issues arising under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and the Americans with Disabilities Act. In addition to her work at NDRN she is an adjunct professor at American University Washington College of Law and Johns Hopkins University.
