We create opportunities for independence for people with disabilities through research, education, and consultation.

Overview

Persons with Disabilities, especially those injured at work, are facing a new horizon after their medical rehabilitation. Can they work?

Should they work? How will their working effect the other 'systems" that have now become relevant to their lives - like the legal system and vocational rehabilitation services. Work is especially an issue for those who are from underrepresented populations who may not be wise in the ways of the law.

This one hour presentation will deal with the various legal definitions of disability and their impacts on placement, especially related to customers from underrepresented populations. It will give practical suggestions on how to share information on definitions of disability and on placement techniques that avoid legal pitfalls.
