Creative Strategies for Threading Violence Awareness into the Four Core Services

Learning Objectives 

Upon completion of this web cast, participants will be able to:

  • Identify ways to tie abuse awareness into a center's four core services
  • Recognize the importance of awareness of and collaboration with victim service programs in their communities in order to provide effective information and appropriate referral
  • Recognize the importance of abuse education for center staff in order to create a safe environment for consumers to disclose abuse and to ensure that appropriate protective action can be taken
  • Recognize opportunities to incorporate abuse awareness into consumer training classes that focus on self-protection
  • List various advocacy issues that can address the public’s perception of victims with disabilities
