About the Training

We’ve all heard of AmeriCorps. But did you know that you may be able to get AmeriCorps volunteers working in your CIL? In Mississippi, Project LINC has successfully connected the Living Independence for Everyone (LIFE) network of CILs with AmeriCorps Vista volunteers for the past eight years. The Project LINC program and its team of volunteers are focused on nursing home transition, helping over 150 people move out of institutions and back into the community. If your CIL could use volunteer support to expand a needed program in your community, this training let's you to hear how you can access AmeriCorps volunteers to expand your Center’s capacity to make your community more accessible and inclusive of people with disabilities!

Target Audience

Any CIL staff interested in expanding capacity through volunteer services.
