Forum Considerations

The graphic on this page shows a matrix that illustrates considerations when choosing a type of forum. The vertical axis describes from low to high levels of complexity and difficulty. The horizontal axis describes low to high importance of being selective in who attends the forum. Community education forums are fairly low in complexity and it isn't as important as in the other kinds of forums to be selective about who is in the audience. Community engagement forums are on the midpoint of both scales: medium complexity and difficulty, and medium importance of selecting the "right" audience. Community action forums are the most complex and difficult to pull off, and pose the most challenges in getting exactly the right audience in attendance who can pull off the kind of action you hope to create.
