Pat Chambers is the Executive Director of Heartland Independent Living Center in Owensville, Missouri and has been in the IL Movement since 1998. Pat has served on the Missouri SILC since 2008, including service as Chair and Vice-Chair. Pat has also chaired the Council’s Emergency Management Committee since 2008 and also chaired the Council’s Training Committee for six years, organizing and implementing the Missouri SILC’s Independent Living Summit conferences in 2009, 2011 and 2013. Additionally, Pat has served as the volunteer facilitator of Missouri’s monthly E.D. Roundtable meetings for the past two years. He is very active in emergency preparedness for the disabled community. He is an initial member of Missouri’s recently implemented Functional Assessment Support Team. Pat was honored as the Nevada, Missouri “Citizen of the Year” in 2008. Pat joined the IL Movement after a 27 year career in radio broadcasting.
