Bio: 

Timothy Beatty is the Chief of the Independent Living Programs within the Administration for Community Living at the US Department of Health and Human Services in Washington, DC. In this role he is responsible for overseeing the Independent Living and the funding, services, and programs provided by states and Centers for Independent Living in all states and territories. Prior to that he worked for the California Department of Rehabilitation (CDOR) for 28 years where his most recent position was the Chief of the Independent Living and Assistive Technology Section. In this role he oversaw California’s funding for the Centers for Independent Living, and the federally funded Assistive Technology Program.

He received his Bachelor's degree in Social Work from the Rochester Institute of Technology and his Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from San Diego State University. In addition he attended the Post Employment Training in Rehabilitation Administration, Deafness from San Diego State University and the National Rehabilitation Leadership Institute from the University of Oklahoma.
