Five Takeaways - Age-Friendly Care in the Time of COVID-19

Modern Healthcare has published an article, "Five Takeaways: Age-Friendly Care in the Time of COVID-19," that sums up the main points from a recent Age-Friendly Health Systems webinar.

The September webinar featured experts in the care of older adults and representatives from two health systems who discussed how they are integrating core principles from the Age-Friendly Health Systems movement into their responses to COVID-19. The webinar also explored how age-friendly care can address the pandemic’s disproportionate effect on older adults. Speakers included Providence St. Joseph Health's Deborah A. Burton, the American Hospital Association's Marie Cleary-Fishman, University of Texas Health Science Center's Min Ji Kwak, Providence Health and Services' Andria Moore and JAHF's Terry Fulmer.

The article highlights five key takeaways from the webinar and describes what health systems are doing and what they can do for older adults at this time to help ensure their care is age-friendly.
