CIL Youth Program Fact Sheets
About the Fact Sheets
Throughout 2019, Centers for Independent Living (CILs) across the country participated in a series of calls aimed at building a community of peer support and sharing for Youth Program Coordinators. Coordinators were invited to share their experiences, tips and tricks, and to problem solve barriers to growing and implementing youth programs in their CIL. Among the topics discussed were:
- How to provide services for cross-disability groups
- How to advertise and recruit groups of youth that are not included currently
- Stories of success and lessons learned
Knowledge gleaned from these discussions was used to prepare the series of Fact Sheets listed below.
An additional publication, CIL Youth Program Snapshots, provides more information about the success and challenges experienced by the CILs highlighted in the snapshots.
