Director of Operations, DRS, Colorado

About the Position

Reports to: Executive Director

Location: Split between Loveland and Fort Collins Colorado offices

Status: Full Time/Exempt

Salary: Up to $50,000

BASIC FUNCTION:

The area of responsibility for this role is very wide and thus requires thorough knowledge of various company processes. The ideal candidate must be competent and able to plan many different kinds of operational activities. Maintains bookkeeping and accounting to include but not limited to: billings, accounts payable, payroll, taxes, reports, Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) and Health Care Policy and Financing (HCPF) fee-for-service etc.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Liaise with the Executive Director and other Department Directors to make decisions for operational activities and set strategic goals
  • Plan and monitor the day-to-day running of DRS to ensure smooth progress
  • Supervise administrative staff
  • Evaluate regularly the efficiency of business procedures according to organizational objectives and advise on improvements
  • Manage accounting, including, but not limited to financial information, Quick Books Online, billing processes, reimbursements, billings for state, federal, and fee-for-service as appropriate
  • Oversee and manage consumer satisfaction processes and organize them to enhance customer satisfaction
  • Management of relationships/agreements with external partners/vendors
  • Gathering, evaluating analyzing and interpreting data and metrics
  • Ensure that the organization runs with legal compliance and conformity to established regulations
  • Manage office in Executive Director’s absence
  • Assist the Executive Director in directing, planning, and implementing policies, objectives, and strategic plan of the organization
  • Process all approved invoices in QuickBooks in a timely, accurate manner in accordance with accounting policies and procedures
  • Assist with the audit and 990 preparation
  • Collect, enter, and process all staff timesheets
  • Process and submit payroll (monthly)
  • Maintain personnel files in accordance with internal policies and government regulations
  • Oversight of DRS social media with regards to posts and comments related to disability issues and coordinate with marketing department their posts and comments

QUALIFICATIONS:

A relevant Bachelor’s Degree is preferred (year for year experience may be substituted).  In addition, three years management and accounting experience-- ideally in a non-profit.  Specific qualifications include: 

  • Ability to exercise initiative, ingenuity, and sound judgment
  • Knowledge and application of General Accounting Principles and Uniform Guidance regulations
  • Effective written and oral communications skills
  • Public relations, in particular with Wine Fest vendors, businesses, and other organizations within Jackson and Larimer counties
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrate understanding of the Independent Living philosophy and the Disability Rights Movement
  • Be able to network within the community
  • Strong organizational skills

 PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Personal experience with a disability
