OILP Quarterly Connection Call

Dear Colleagues,

Please join your colleagues and the OILP Team for the next OILP Grantee Quarterly Connection call on February 24, 2021 at 3:00 pm EST.  Agenda and connection information will be provided at a later date.

We are pleased to announce that Reyma McCoy-McDeid the ACL Commissioner and Director of the Independent Living Administration will be providing opening remarks.  In addition, in response to requests from the network, agenda topics will focus on CIL CARES Act funds and the COVID-19 vaccine rollout.

Our conversation will include challenges CILs are addressing to meet consumer needs and promising practices to meet those needs. We will also review the use of CIL CARES Act funds to address vaccine rollout services.

As we prepare for the call we are asking you, the IL community, to send your questions, stories and efforts related to the CIL CARES Act funds and challenges/promising practices related to the COVID-19 vaccine rollout.  Specifically related to the vaccine rollout, what is happening in your communities related to:

  • Access problems, including information related to vaccines, registration procedures, and of vaccination sites;
  • Transportation to and from vaccination sites;
  • Racial and geographic disparities in access;
  • Systems problems;
    • Reliance on Internet
    • Lack of notification strategies
    • Complicated applications
  • Vaccine hesitancy;
  • Collaboration with other government entities;
  • Other?

Please email your stories to our Quarterly Connection inbox OILPconnect@acl.hhs.gov.
