Hurricane Ida an Storms: Range and Disability Impact

As Hurricane Ida recovery efforts continue, and storms and flooding caused by its initial landfall continue to strike the eastern U.S. (from Connecticut in the northeast to Florida and many states in-between), it's critical to recognize that people with disabilities are impacted throughout the region. One in four households impacted by Hurricane Ida include at least one person with a disability.

To better understand where people with disabilities live, and how they might be impacted, we have state level maps to inform planning and response as well as a Disability Data lookup tool to access data specific to local counties. To find local partners, contact the Administration on Community Living.

Visit the RTC:Rural website for more information on the maps.
