About the training

The Center on KTDRR’s KT Conference on “Research for Policy Outcomes" is delighted to welcome Dr. Anjali J. Forber-Pratt, director of the National Institute on Disability, Independent Living and Rehabilitation Research (NIDILRR) on Monday, Oct. 25 to #KTDRR21.

She and the NIDILRR KT Program Coordinator, Dr. Pimjai Sudsawad, will open the conference. Next Ms. Barbara Shumar from Management Concepts will give an overview of restrictions on lobbying that apply to federal grantees in the U.S.

Our presenters that follow will cover Day 1’s topic, “Engaging Stakeholders Early for Policy Impact.” Dr. Tanya Horsley from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada will discuss engaging knowledge users as part of organizational-level policy development. The afternoon will cap off with a presentation from Ms. Tawara Goode from the National Center for Cultural Competence at Georgetown University, who will highlight for attendees the importance of understanding historical trauma when engaging communities at “the nexus of disability, race, ethnicity and culture.” Read presentation abstracts and learn more at our agenda.

#KTDRR21 is a free, virtual conference across three afternoons for one week: 1:00 – 5:00 pm ET each day on October 25, 27, and 29, 2021.

The conference has been approved for 8.5 hours of CRCC CEUs under approval number 60007945622.
