Annie is the Director of Community Connections at The Ability Center of Greater Toledo (ACT). Her position mainly involves assisting young adults with preparing for and securing an employment opportunity by the time they are ready to graduate. Annie's undergraduate degree is focused in Deaf Studies but the majority of her work experience is in Vocational Rehabilitation with individuals of all ages with varying disabilities. She is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Special Education.
She chose to join the Ability Center team because of the passion the agency feels and promotes in regards to assisting individuals with disabilities in any way possible to promote independence. Annie is from the Toledo area, growing up in Millbury with a cousin living with Downs Syndrome so that experience moved her toward the disability-related work field. Outside of work, she enjoys volleyball, tennis, jogging, hiking, walking, and most other outdoor and physical activities. She spends time with family, her husband and stepson.
