Tawara Goode

Tawara Goode, MA, is the Director of the National Center for Cultural Competence and Associate Director of the Georgetown University Center for Child and Human Development (GUCCHD), University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities. She is a Research Associate within the Department of Pediatrics. Ms. Goode's work focuses on increasing the capacity of health care and mental health programs to design, implement, and evaluate culturally and linguistically competent service delivery systems. Ms. Goode has been actively involved in the development and implementation of programs and initiatives in the area of cultural and linguistic competence at local, national and international levels. Ms. Goode is nationally recognized as a leader in the area of cultural and linguistic competency. Ms. Goode has published articles, monographs and policy papers on such topics as policies that support cultural and linguistic competence, children and families who are homeless, community-based service delivery models and the inclusion of children with disabilities and their families in child care.

Tawara Goode is a nationally recognized leader in cultural and linguistic competence. She is the Director for the National Center for Cultural Competence & Associate Director, Georgetown University Center for Child & Human Development University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities; and Assistant Professor, Department of Pediatrics Georgetown University Medical Center.

She is the author (2010) of A Guide for Using the Cultural and Linguistic Competence Assessment for Disability Organizations and co-author with P. Trivedi and W. Jones (2010) of Cultural and Linguistic Competence Assessment for Disability Organizations.
