New Serious Mental Illness Research Funding Opportunities

The National Institute on Disability, Independent Living, and Rehabilitation Research (NIDILRR) at ACL has three new funding opportunities under the Rehabilitation Research and Training Centers (RRTCs) Program for research on serious mental illness.The purpose of the RRTC programs, which are funded through the Disability and Rehabilitation Research Projects and Centers Program, is to achieve the goals and improve the effectiveness of services authorized under the Rehabilitation Act through well-designed research, training, technical assistance, and dissemination activities in important topic areas as specified by NIDILRR. These activities are designed to benefit rehabilitation service providers, individuals with disabilities, family members, and other stakeholders.

RRTC on Aging Among Adults with Serious Mental Illnesses

(HHS-2023-ACL-NIDILRR-RTHF-0000)

For this particular RRTC, the grantee must generate new research-based knowledge on aging among older adults with long-term serious mental illnesses. RRTC on Community Living and Participation Among People with Serious Mental Illness

The purpose of this particular RRTC is to generate new research-based knowledge toward improved community living and participation outcomes among transition age youth with serious mental health conditions (SMHC).
