ILRU Now Accepting Applications for Summer Internship Program

The Independent Living Research Utilization program (http://www.ilru.org) at the TIRR Memorial Hermann Research Center in Houston, Texas, is seeking applicants for its 2023 summer internship program. Interns will learn research methodology and approaches and receive a thorough grounding in the Affordable Care Act, disability laws and policy, and disability and independent living history and philosophy. Interns will assist in conducting research, including surveys of centers for independent living; in doing so they will apply what they have learned about research techniques and approaches. This internship will be conducted mostly virtually via Zoom. The interns will be supervised by UTHealth Professor Lex Frieden and Center Director Richard Petty at ILRU.

Location: Independent Living Research Utilization Program at TIRR Memorial Hermann, 1333 Moursund Street, Houston, Texas

Duration of internship: Ten to twelve weeks during the timeframe June 1 to August 21, 2022

Compensation: Paid/Unpaid Opportunities Available. No health or other benefits are included.
