California Telephone Access Program (CTAP) is a program of the California Public Utilities Commission Deaf and Disabled Telecommunications Program. They have an array of large button phones, amplified phones and icon/picture auto dial phones to meet the needs of many people with various disabilities. And they're free!

Characteristics, Service Use and Employment Outcomes of Young Adults on the Autism Spectrum Who Engaged with Vocational Rehabilitation Services from 2017 to 2020

Key Findings:

  • Educational institutions were the most common source of referral among autistic young adult VR applicants (48 percent), followed by self-referrals (19 percent).
  • The average age at VR application for young adults on the autism spectrum was 20. About 47 percent of autistic young adult VR applicants were ages 16 to 18, 28 percent were ages 19 to 21, 14 percent were ages 22 to 24, and the remaining 11 percent were ages 25-28.

ACL Announces Funding for Grants to Support Aging Services for Minority Populations

ACL has opened a new funding opportunity designed to improve how state units on aging, area agencies on aging, and local service providers deliver services to populations with the greatest economic and social need.The funding opportunity — Strengthening Aging Services for Minority Populations Through Technical Assistance, Resource Development, and Program Coordination — will include six awards in total ranging from approximately $100,000 to $210,000.
